Hoggs of Fife Field Sport Neoprene Lined Wellington

Posted by Iain Bow on Dec 21, 2019

This is a fantastic boot. Comfortable, warm and the Vibram sole offers the most excellent grip. The soil in my area is clay based, but the soles do not clog up or slip. This is a great boot for long walks. I cross a variety of ploughed fields and meadows, which this year have been very wet and muddy. Never thought I would spend this amount of money on wellies, but they have been worth every penny. Also, fantastic customer service from Cherry Tree Country Clothing.

    Hoggs field sport wellies

Posted by Col on Dec 03, 2019

Bought after my old Seeland wellies developed a leak , these Hoggs are a good sturdy but comfy wellie , the way they fit at the heel means you definitely need to use the kick spur to get these off . These wellies are really well made using quality materials , nice thick rubber , good Vibram sole . They also benefit from having a neoprene lining , always my first must have when buying wellies , very happy with my purchase & service from cherry tree.

    Bought as a gift

Posted by Allison on Nov 26, 2019

Ordering and delivery were faultless, so no complaints there. They have been bought as a gift and though I can appreciate the quality, they look great, I can't really comment on the product itself. Now the complaint....sorry. As I've said I have bought these as a gift and as such I was very disappointed in the condition of the packaging. The box looked as though it had been previously delivered and returned, it was extremely battered, and not just as a result of one delivery. The tissue inside, wrapped around the boots, was all ripped. Very disappointed, but nothing I could do as they were for an imminent birthday. It looks as though I'm giving a second hand product. Not a good image for what looks to be a good boot. First impressions count, so a fail there.

    Excellent wellie

Posted by Maire Lee on Sep 12, 2019

This is the second pair I have bought after a lifetime search for the perfect wellie. Says it all, really. Comfortable to walk long distances with the dog over testing terrain: easy to remove thanks to the reinforced heel spur...... just bash it against the doorstep and pull. First pair lasted a year until they started leaking at the bend of the foot, so I would have been happier if they had lasted longer, obviously, but still felt I wanted to repeat the purchase.

    Good Value

Posted by Bill Davies on Sep 10, 2019

I have worn those well branded wellington boots for years that used to be made in Scotland! You probably know the brand I am talking about. Now they are mainly made in China I fear the quality has dropped and the last two pairs I have owned have been disappointing. I read good reviews about these Hoggs of Fife boots so i decided to try them and I must say for the price they are very well made and also very comfortable straight out of the box. I have only just started to wear them so time will tell but so far I am very impressed. They are a good solid boot with good Vibram soles that have good tread and very good internal cushioning in the foot bed. I take a size 8 and they are very slightly big which gives me plenty of room to wiggle toes but also gives me the opportunity to wear thicker socks if needed. They are heavier than other boots I have owned but it is not a problem. They are somewhat difficult to remove although they have a heel stub but i find you really need a boot puller to make them easier to remove. All in all very pleased but as I said time will tell but I am very hopeful!!

    So far so good

Posted by Unknown on Mar 05, 2019

I am very impressed with these wellies. They are very comfortable and tough. I needed wellingtons to cope with lambing season and these fit the bill perfectly. well worth the extra expense. Only slight downside is they can be too warm, especially when you are working hard all day.

Early Days but they do seem to be well made & comfortable for the money with others I have looked at

Posted by Keith Sargeant on Feb 08, 2019

Took a while to chose these after sending others back (different suppler). Thank you Beth for all your help and knowledge, I think the video you made of each welly was a great idea. Many thanks Beth.

    Your feet go in them

Posted by Unknown on Sep 14, 2018

They are Wellington boots that you put your feet into and they keep them dry and warm. Amazing invention and can't think why someone hasn't thought of these before. Next someone will come up with a machine that slices bread.

Good quality wellies . A bit tight at first around the ankle but sure they will loosen up after a few wears.

    Nice fit

Posted by Ally L on Apr 11, 2017

A wellington I got a half size bigger to accomadate thicker walking socks. Very comfy in foot pad and sidewalks are thicker. I would say I like the grip very well and would say are best suited to winter conditions due to wall thickness and heat retention. A nice variation in colour than usual pale types. Still to evaluate longevity.

Warm, Supportive Wellington Boots for Country Life

The Hoggs of Fife Field Sport Neoprene Wellington sits above a basic unlined welly when warmth and underfoot comfort are important. Its neoprene lining, cushioned footbed and substantial sole make it particularly well suited to colder, wetter conditions and customers who spend extended periods outdoors.

These wellingtons are a practical choice for farmers and stable workers spending time on harder surfaces, as well as dog walkers, shooters and country users who want a more supportive boot for regular wear.

4mm Neoprene Lining for Warmth and Comfort

A 4mm high-density neoprene lining provides additional insulation between your foot and the rubber outer. This helps reduce the cold feel associated with traditional unlined wellington boots and makes the Field Sport Neo particularly useful during autumn, winter and colder early mornings.

Neoprene also provides a soft, flexible layer inside the boot, helping improve comfort when the wellingtons are worn for longer periods. If you prefer a less insulated wellington for milder conditions, the Field Sport is also available with a cotton lining.

Vibram Outsole for Grip and Durability

The Field Sport Neoprene Wellington features a high-performance Vibram outsole designed to provide grip, abrasion resistance, comfort and durability. This makes it well suited to the varied surfaces encountered during everyday country use, from wet grass and muddy fields to tracks and farmyards.

For customers who regularly walk or work outdoors, the substantial outsole is one of the main differences between the Field Sport and a lightweight general-purpose wellington.

Cushioned Footbed for Longer Days Outdoors

Inside the boot is a removable cushioned EVA insole with memory foam inserts. The additional cushioning helps absorb impact underfoot and can make a noticeable difference when the boots are worn for several hours at a time.

The adjustable side gusset also allows the opening around the calf to be altered, while the rubber heel kick provides a practical way to remove muddy boots without having to pull them off by hand.

Why Choose the Hoggs of Fife Field Sport Neoprene Wellington?

Choose the Field Sport Neo if you want a country wellington that combines waterproof rubber construction with more warmth and cushioning than a traditional unlined boot. The 4mm neoprene lining makes it particularly well suited to colder weather, while the Vibram outsole and cushioned footbed are useful for customers who expect to spend longer periods walking or working outdoors.

It is a substantial field welly rather than an ultra-lightweight boot. At approximately 1200g per boot in a UK size 7, customers prioritising the lightest possible footwear may prefer a lighter alternative. For regular country use where support, warmth and a robust sole are more important, the Field Sport Neo is a strong all-round option.

Key Features Explained

4mm Neoprene Lining

The high-density neoprene lining provides additional insulation and creates a softer layer inside the rubber boot. This makes the Field Sport Neo better suited to colder conditions than a traditional unlined wellington.

Vibram Outsole

A high-performance Vibram sole provides dependable grip, abrasion resistance and durability for regular outdoor use. It is particularly useful when moving between fields, tracks, wet grass and harder farmyard surfaces.

EVA Insole with Memory Foam

The removable cushioned footbed adds padding beneath the foot, helping improve comfort during longer periods of standing and walking.

Adjustable Calf Gusset

The adjustable side gusset allows extra room around the calf when needed and gives the wearer greater control over the opening of the boot.

Who Are the Field Sport Neoprene Wellies Best For?

These wellington boots are particularly suitable for farmers, stable workers, dog walkers, shooters and general country users. Their neoprene lining makes them a good option for colder and wetter conditions, while the cushioned footbed and substantial outsole suit customers who spend longer periods on their feet.

They can also be worn for everyday rural jobs, walking across fields, tending livestock, working around the yard or heading out with the dogs when waterproof footwear is essential.
