Shooting Jackets 2016

We all know that game shooting can be tough on your shooting clothing – and especially your shooting jacket! Well, this year, you might think that ‘enough is enough’, and you might decide that it’s time to buy a new jacket, just in time for the next season! (And, after all, why not treat yourself?) But of course this begs two main questions:

1. Which shooting jacket should I buy?

2. What should I be looking for when I buy my next shooting jacket?

WATERPROOF & BREATHABLE JACKETS

With the advent of new technology and updated manufacturing techniques within the clothing industry, there are now many different styles of shooting jackets to choose from. These offer some interesting alternatives to the traditional – but still very popular – tweed shooting jackets.

This year at Cherry Tree Country Clothing we have introduced a new and exciting brand – the Percussion clothing and footwear range. Percussion is a french brand that delivers high quality, practical garments utilising the best possible materials with great attention to detail!

The Percussion Rambouillet Jacket

We are proud to introduce the Percussion Rambouillet shooting jacket! This jacket has been designed for shooters and hunters who are faced with extreme weather conditions. With its waterproof and breathable laminated membrane, this jacket combines high performance fabric and functionality, making it highly effective when performing in very cold weathers.

To ensure extra durability, extra detail has been included within the design to include imitation suede pads on the shoulders and imitation suede on the pocket flaps.

Another unique feature of this jacket is the size of the rear game pocket. This pocket stretches along the back of the jacket and has three easy access points. No more struggling with small openings and limited space!

Although very reasonably priced, the Percussion Rambouillet shooting jacket is definitely worthy of consideration – especially as it has similar features and is of the the same quality as some of the top brands such as Barbour or Musto!

The Bonart Keeper Jacket

New at Cherry Tree Country Clothing for this season is the Bonart Keeper jacket. This superb jacket is Made from 100% polyester with extra Alcantara trim (68% polyester and 32% polyurethane) for durability.

Bonart is a fantastic British brand with over 90 years of supplying and manufacturing quality country clothing and shirts within the UK. Bonart specialises in the supply of high quality outdoor and country clothing whilst, at the same time, making efforts to reduce the impact that its operations have upon the environment.

The keeper jacket is a practical jacket and is fully waterproof, windproof and breathable, helping to keep you dry and comfortable no matter what the weather.

Featuring a raglan sleeve construction for better movement and a soft collar for comfort, this jacket is perfect for everyday wear! It has been designed with a number of pockets including large bellowed pockets with retaining straps, making it easier to access cartridges whilst out on the shoot, and hand-warmer pockets to keep your hands snug when waiting for the shoot to start.

TWEED JACKETS

With the aforementioned improvement in manufacturing techniques and the introduction of new materials, tweed shooting jackets are now even more practical and easy to look after!

Today’s jackets feature the essential detailing needed of a shooting jacket. These features include deep bellowed pockets, game pouches and warm collars, as well as a selection being machine washable. They are available in various exciting country colours.

Hoggs Edinburgh Jacket

Hoggs of Fife knows when it has ‘got it right’ and it most definitely has ‘got it right’with its Edinburgh tweed jacket!

Although this jacket was first introduced a few seasons back, there really seems to be no reason to play about any further with its design. Suffice to say that it can perhaps already be described as ‘perfection’!

The Edinburgh jacket is made from a wool and mixed fibre tweed which offers exceptional warmth and durability.

Our customers regularly ask how they can remove stubborn stains from their tweed garments. With the Edinburgh tweed fabric there’s really no need for concern, as the material is coated in a protective solution which prevents liquids and mud from soiling the fabric.

This is a lightly padded jacket that is fully waterproof, breathable and windproof.

The Hoggs of Fife Edinburgh tweed complete collection is currently made up of a matching pair of breeks, a waistcoat, a waterproof flat cap and a baseball cap.

And…an alternative colour:

Recently introduced by Hoggs of Fife is the Glenfinnan jacket. This jacket has the same specifications and features as the Edinburgh but is available in a brown tweed check. (Also available are matching breeks, waistcoat and flat cap).

These tweed jackets by Hoggs of Fife really are practical jackets that will keep you dry and warm, all day long, whilst out on the field.

The Bonart Game Jacket

All of Bonart tweed jackets are 100% British made. They have been designed, tested and manufactured in the UK to ensure British quality. The Game Jacket is made from Scottish tweed and is fully waterproof and breathable. By utilising the latest manufacturing techniques and using top quality Scottish tweed, the Game Jacket is an exceptional, premium tweed jacket that is very much fit for purpose. Very reasonably priced, this tweed jacket is a very attractive option!

LADIES SHOOTING JACKETS

Hoggs of Fife Hunting Jacket

Yet another quality, practical and comfortable jacket for ladies from Hoggs of Fife! The Hoggs of Fife ladies hunting jacket is made from 100% luxury polyester faux suede fabric, and is fully waterproof and windproof, with a strain resistant coating for extra protection.

Like all of the other Hoggs jackets, this jacket has numerous pockets along and an internal elasticated drawcord for extra comfort and a better fit.
