  1. A Fine Transaction 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th May 2017

I haven't put many miles on the Crusaders yet, but am very pleased to date. They are true to size and fit beautifully, always a bit of a worry in online ordering. The boots match the description and the Cherry Tree folks were very prompt on dispatching the order. The price is very fair and I'm quite sure there will be many comfortable miles ahead of me. Thanks Cherry Tree Country Clothing!

  2. Traditional Leather Walking Boot 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Jan 2017

I've had these for about 6 months. They do need breaking-in. Mine are now comfortable. My normal walking boot size is 8.5. Crusaders are only available in full sizes, so I bought size 9. I needed to put two insoles in each boot.
Although heavy, (1800g per pair), they don't feel so when in use. The sole is flexible enough for general walking. I think this boot would be suitable for high-level walks.

  3. Crusader Update 3 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Oct 2015

Further to my review on 14 August, despite following advice from the Company after consulting with GRISPORT, I have washed and put on different dubbing but the odour still persists, although marginally reduced. Also apparent creasing on toe cap which rubber insert in Revolution avoids. I see that GRISPORT have now reverted to former dimpled leather on that model and wish I could now swop Crusader for Revolution!

  4. great boot to rival the mighty meindl burma 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Sep 2015

These boots are excellent, they really are. My previous pair of hiking boots were meindl Burma pros, the meindls cost the best part of £200.
I normally wear the gri sport contractor everyday in work, I'm a spark, so I thought I would try the crusader.
First thing I thought was that they felt as good if not better than the meindl.
The quality is top notch, good leather, super thick outer sole, large shock absorbing mid sole and a water proof inner.
They are hard wearing and some people might find them hard to break in but when you go up into high end boots like ; han wags, meindls or scarpas you will find that's the way they all are.
I can't recommend these boots enough

  5. Comfortable boot but.....! 4 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Aug 2015

Have previously had the excellent Revolution, which lasted nearly three years. Decided against latest version as leather seemed less durable and so purchased Crusader at very good price. Very pleased after first day out and on return cleaned then waxed with Grisport NIKWAX - but next morning smelt unpleasant odour! Not from inside boot but from the outside leather. After three days it is still noticeable - just hope leather quality has not been compromised. Also the laces are the same as on my Grisport Amazon shoes, although somewhat longer. Would have expected thicker and better quality on boots. Just hoping I have made the right choice as to durability but only time will tell.

  6. Good quality boot excellent value 4 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Feb 2015

I've had grisport walking shoes before. I was very impressed and they were a bargain. I needed to replace a pair of meindhl boots which I'd been disappointed with and were started to split at the toe.

I was after a pair of via Ferrata style boots - more robust and supportive as I have knee problems and wanted stability. I walk 10 miles every weekend and always wear boots plus holidays so around 1,000 miles a year. I don't do too much extreme walking it's more lowland so these are more robust than many would need.

They are really comfy out of the box. They lace nicely and give good grip although they tend to accumulate mud. They are heavy but that doesn't bother me. The leather is fine and the boot well constructed.

They are really good value. Boots with same features are much pricier

  7. Comfortable, Great Support, Warm & Dry 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jan 2014

This boot is great, we'll see it they last as long as my last pair, which were the grisport quattro, but i loved those until they failed about 2.5 years, but i got a good mileage from them, hence my decision to return to grisport.
These have a similar feeling, they look great, and have a good solid sole to protect underfoot and quite high so offer good ankle support

  8. Excellent Product 5 Star Review

Posted by on 22nd Oct 2013

Needed replacement for previous boots of similar quality, which I had for 4 years but apparently are no longer made. Not disappointed, in fact I couldn't be more pleased.

  9. Ideal upgrade for walking boots 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Apr 2013

I purchased these boots on a recommendation off a friend who is a keen walker/rambler. Between us we've tried all kinds of hiking boot including Brashers, but the Grisport Crusaders are without doubt the best in terms of quality, comfort and value for money.
From the moment you take them out of the box and put them on your feet you know you're onto a winner! The arch supported insole is a great feature, as is the layered Vibram sole & heel. The uppers are perfectly stitched and indicative of a strong, hard wearing, but light boot. Once on the feet you'll experience a sense of improved posture and superb ankle support before you even start walking in them. Although reasonably comfortable from the outset, after a few miles the boots' comfort continues to improve as they mould themselves to the contours of your feet. If you're serious about walking and climbing the hills in all weathers then this is perhaps the ultimate boot to fulfill the purpose.

  10. A bit expensive but definitely worth it! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 19th Feb 2013

I have tried many walking boots, prices starting at £30 up to £80 and none of them stayed waterproof for very long. I have seen the Grisport Crusader about for a while and thought it was a bit expensive. But after reading different reviews I decided to go with them. This is now my second pair and I love them. They are comfortable as soon as I put them on and I don't have any worries about my feet getting wet! Highly recommended!!
